What parameters should be considered in choosing a kitchen sink

1. SIZE OF THE KITCHEN UNIT

A kitchen unit is a kitchen cupboard in which the sink or, to be more precise, the bowl, its main component, is fitted, There are standard sizes of kitchen cupboards, from 40 to the corner unit measuring 90x90 cm.

If your choice is a sink with a wing, its bowl is fitted into one kitchen cupboard while the wing may pass to the neighboring unit.

Information on each Florentina sink shows the minimum size of the unit in which this sink can be installed.

2. HOW TO INSTALL

Principal techniques for installing kitchen sinks:

On top of the table

Under the tabletop

Florentina, Dr. Gans and Flortek kitchen sink brands come supplied with sets of fasteners depending on the type of installation.

In choosing an installation method the material of the tabletop must be taken into account! For example, a laminated chipboard or medium density fiberboard tabletops do not suit for installation of sinks under the tabletop (Florentian Bera, Flortek Ring series) because the opening edges remain untreated and unprotected against moisture, and look untidy. In this case it is recommended to use only stone tabletops, quartz agglomerates, solid surfaces, etc.

3. SINK DESIGN

Reversible kitchen sinks

This type of sinks can be installed with the bowl to the left or to the right depending on the kitchen design. The holes for accessories drilled halfway through by the manufacturer on the reverse side are located on two opposite sides.

Non-reversible kitchen sinks

This type of sink can be installed in a strictly set position. The holes for accessories drilled halfway through by the manufacturer on the reverse side are located on one side of the sink. Corner models can also be referred to this type of sinks.
